A hunter outsourced by the guild aiding in investigations of high threat monsters. He is famous amongst higher up guild members for being an incredibly capable hunter with a short fuse and murky past. He has an antisocial and at times, slightly awkward personality that seems to unnerve whoever meets or hunts with him, despite his best efforts to be, at the very least, polite. He's monitored closely by the guild wherever he goes as he seemingly unwillingly finds trouble everywhere he steps.
Physically, he is not much stronger than the average hunter if at all and has less than desireable stamina, but he has almost unmatched intuition, reflexes and instinct that have kept him alive this long. He doesn't show it on his face often, but part of him enjoys the thrill of the hunt and the feeling of connecting blow after blow to his targets. He seems to dislike using ironsilk for movement, complaining that it gives him motion sickness and is only ever seen utilising wirebugs for combat if absolutely necessary. He's also aversed to properly using clutch claws. He has an aggressive style of hunting that involves a relentless attack on the monster that minimises it from moving in the first place, opting to take risky swings at an attempt to offset the monsters attacks as his option for a defensive manoeuvre, instead of evading entirely.
Past
He'd grown up a gifted child, those around him setting expectations for him that he knew he never wanted to reach. As he came of age, he would abandon his studies and lose his way, the ransacking of his home being the final straw before he made the decision to become a hunter. His misplaced anger and self-hatred as a young adult lead him to take out his frustrations on hunts and he became known by the hunters in his local hub for lashing out on the field and having an impatient and brutal hunting style.
He stretched the rules of the guild wherever he could to make his living. He did trade with poachers and the underground, taking extra from registered hunts to sell for a profit and doing dirty jobs (threatening and beating others in the underground over unpaid debt, gang turf wars, among other things) for a childhood friend that had roped him in. He was caught in his mid-thirties after attacking the guild knight investigating him, mistaking their intent to question for one to kill, and after doing a year's time, was offered a contract by a wyverian guild higher up that would allow him some freedoms in exchange for his service and the names of his co-conspirators, which he hesitantly agreed upon.
The guild's leash on Quillan would loosen as time progressed, but an altercation involving his old squad members would result in him losing his eye to blunt force trauma and he's framed and punished for committing a poaching-adjacent crime. As he reached his late forties, the guild softened their hold on him again, before giving him one last job to aid in the investigation of the qurio in the kingdom.
